I've been making about 4 fresh juices a day. I've also been drinking an organic raw kombucha bought from the store, Synergy's Mystic Mango flavor. As well as drinking blended frozen bananas or almond milk with cinnamon, so that I drink at least 5-6 drinks per day. I've made sure to drink plenty of water, and ginger tea too.
I wanted to make a green juice with more veggies than fruit, but still tasty. Just because I'm juicing doesn't mean I want to drink nasty tasting juices. I prefer lightly flavored juices, not overpowered by the greens used. Celery, cucumber, and lettuce are vegetables filled with water, with no bitter flavor, so they are great to use when making juices. The more dark leafy greens, like spinach and kale, contain less water so you won't receive too much juice from them.
This super duper green juice provides a good serving of vegetables, and is a great recipe when juicing because you want to balance the amount of fruits to vegetables you drink.
- 1 head of romaine lettuce
- 2 small lemons (peeled)
- 3 big handfuls of kale
- 4 in. piece of fresh ginger
- 5 in. piece of cucumber
- 1 1/2 bunch of celery
Juice and mix all ingredients together. Enjoy!
