It's day three of my juice cleanse, and i'm feeling fine apart from having a stuffy nose from allergies. Great timing right? Hoping these juices will clear that all up.
I bought a lot of produce for about $70, and as much organic fruits and veggies I could find from Trader Joes. Buying organic as we all know can be expensive, so when you come across good deals or know which grocery stores sell organic produce for a good price, buy it! I still have so much fruits and veggies left to use. I've been making at least 4-5 fresh juices a day. I'm thinking I might need to buy some more dark leafy greens to use the last two days, but other than that, I'm doing pretty well juicing on a budget.
Not feeling hungry. I have cravings here and there but more-so just because they are things I want to eat at the end of my cleanse, and they are all healthy foods. I just remind myself that this cleanse isn't forever. I will eat again. Knowing that, and reminding myself that I have control, relaxes me and I feel at ease with this process.
I really haven't been planning too much about what juices I will be drinking and when. I've been having fun just throwing together different fruits and veggies that I know will taste good. Knowing that I want my juices to contain as many veggies as possible and that I want to include more greens than fruit every day has helped me decide what kind of juices to make. However, if you know that juicing will be a difficult experience for you, I highly recommend researching different recipes and planning before hand what juices you will drink every day and at what times you will drink them. Being prepared for a juice cleanse is important, because you don't want to lose track of your goal and give into cravings.
I had a ton of green apples so I decided to use some up for the base of this juice. This Green Apple Green Machine juice is mildly flavored and sweet.
- 2 granny smith apples
- 4 sticks of celery
- 4 in. piece of cucumber
- 3 sprigs of mint leaves
- 3 oz. spinach (1/2 a 6oz. package)
Juice all ingredients. Mix together. Enjoy!
